Winnie Smith Candidate for Leyton Ward meets New Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg

A by election will be held in Leyton ward on February 14th 2008.

The Liberal Democrat candidate for this seat is Winnie Smith (no relation to Barry Smith). She has worked in the borough, first in Social Services and for 12 years as a Housing officer. Winnie is currently a Deputy Registrar in the Barking Registry office.

This by election has been caused by the removal of Labour councillor Miranda Grell from Waltham Forest Council after being found guilty of making false representations against a Liberal Democrat candidate during the 2006 elections.

Liberal Democrat activists who wish to help out during the campaign should contact Bob and Jenny Sullivan via this website.
