A Labour councillor has had to vacate her position owing to her disgraceful actions during the last local elections. This means that there will be a by-election on 14th February 2008.

The Lib Dems have selected local Focus Team member Winnie Smith (no relation to Barry Smith) as their candidate.Lives locally and knows the area. You may know Winnie as she lives locally in Farmer Road. She has two grown up sons and has lived in Waltham Forest for over

17 years. She has worked in the borough, first in Social Services and for 12 years as a Housing officer. Winnie is currently a Deputy Registrar in the Barking Registry office.

Experienced and hard working Cllrs. Bob Sullivan and Naheed Qureshi say: We are

delighted that Winnie is our candidate. She will make a great councillor. She knows the area and knows how to deal with the Council. Winnie Smith is an experienced and hard working member of the Focus Team and, with your support, will help us to represent the residents of Leyton Ward on the Council.
