Campaigning for Leyton and Wanstead

Over 12 years ago, I was visiting friends in Waltham Forest. As I walked down their street, a passer-by wished me "Good Morning". I was looking for a place in London and realised, immediately, that this was the kind of community - friendly and decent - in which wanted to live.

I've never changed my mind. I made more friends and valued acquaintances whilst living in Leyton, than at any other time of my life. And the highspot was doing my bit of public service in the Council: it was a really terrific experience. I can strongly recommend it!

Although I was sad to leave, these last 20 months of distress do not - in anyway - diminish the very happy memories I have of Waltham Forest and, in particular, the people who live there.

I hope that 2008 will prove to be a brilliant year for us all!
