The Post Office on Leyton High Road scheduled for closure

Samina Safdar campaigning against the closure of the Leyton High Road Post Office

Would you believe it? Whilst Samina Safdar and your Local Forest Ward Focus team are campaigning to keep Post Offices open, our Labour MP, Harry Cohen, voted to close them during a recent vote in Parliament. Wanstead and Leyton Liberal Democrats are appalled that Harry Cohen has ignored local people and local services to support a Government intent on closing 2,500 Post Offices across the country. Post Office Ltd announced the closure of Post Office branches in Leyton High Road, Grove Green Road and Hall Lane. The branches will close shortly. This is after thousands of Post Office closures since Labour came to power. The Labour Government now plans to close a further 2,500, of which 169 are in London.
