Meral Ece calls on communities in London to vote on May 1st to keep BNP out of London Assembly

9.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 25th Apr 2008

On May 1 elections, every vote will count. Any party which polls 5% or more of the vote across London, will win a seat on the London Assembly. At the last GLA elections 4 years ago, the BNP polled 4.75% of the vote across London - just 5,000 votes away from winning a seat. If they succeed in getting 5%, they can win a seat on the Assembly. Meral has joined the cross party & trade union campaign, to make sure all communities use their right to vote to make sure that the far right British National Party (BNP) do not win any seats on May 1st.

Meral Ece says: " the BNP is a racist party, they are holocaust deniers and Nazi sympathisers. They would use any position on the London Assembly to spread hatred and promote division across multi-cultural London. A higher turnout will help keep the BNP out of London"

"We must all go out and use our vote on 1 May"
