Reasons to Vote Lib Democrat - We keep our promises!

8.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 1st May 2008

At the last local elections the Lib Dems pledged to keep Council Tax under control. Leyton and Wanstead Liberal Democrats have delivered on this promise. For two years running the rise in Council Tax has been 2.5% or lower - much lower than inflation.

Samina Safdar says: "Liberal Democrat councillors have kept their pledge to keep the Council Tax rise to no more than 2.5% by cutting bureaucracy and making efficiency savings. I am very pleased that not only has the tax been kept down but also that more money is to be invested in children's services and social services to protect our most vulnerable residents as well as investment in jobs, regeneration and the environment."
