Samina Safdar's action file - Liberal Democrats getting things done!9.01.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 30th May 2008
Liberal Democrats work for the community not just at election time but the whole year round. Forest Ward campaigner Samina Safdar has recently been tackling issues in Hainault Road - Forest Road, Forest Drive West, Forest Road, Knotts Green Road, Epson Road and Canterbury Road. The garages between the back gardens in Hainault Road and Forest Road have become an area inviting anti-social behaviour. Some of the garages are empty and have become derelict and fly-tipped. Samina Safdar and the Focus Team have initiated enquiries to find the owners of the derelict garages so that the area can be cleaned up. Samina has contacted the Council to fill in the large pothole in Forest Drive West. It is dangerous for both cyclists, motorbikes and cars. You can't see how deep it is after it rains. The Council has been asked to investigate parking and traffic management in Knotts Green Road. Some residents of Canterbury Road have not had their black recycling boxes cleared for weeks. The Council has said that the road works in the road have prevented their recycling lorries getting access. Samina is pressing for urgent action to clear the backlog. The faulty light at the back of Nursery Terrace in Epsom Road has been reported and the Council has also been asked to prune the trees. Samina and the team have asked the Council to clear the overgrown shrubs and vegetation on one side of Forest Road. The Liberal Democrats and Focus teams work for the community all year round and not just at election time.
