St Josephs Court on the Beaumont Estate

Tenants of St Josephs Court, a two storey block of flats on the Beaumont Estate, were shocked to find that there is a plan to demolish these flats to make way for a six storey block of flats. London and Quadrant's (L&Q) plans were laid out at a meeting with tenants recently. They not only included building six storeys on the St Josephs site but included another two six storey blocks opposite Tescos. Cllr. Bob Sullivan, who was at the meeting, expressed dismay that having nearly finished demolishing the three tower blocks on the estate, L&Q are planning to build three new mini tower blocks. He said, "Have they not learnt the lesson that people and families do not want high rise blocks on their estate. This is not what the tenants signed up for when they chose L&Q as their landlord".
