Redbridge Council closes swimming pool

9.00.00am GMT Mon 9th Mar 2009

Residents were shocked to find that the Seven Kings swimming pool has been closed down. The Council has let it deteriorate over the years leaving Redbridge with only one swimming pool across the borough. Now they want to spend £38m building another pool over in Seven Kings in Ilford. Local residents now are using Cathall Leisure Centre in Waltham Forest for swimming. Kate Garrett says:"Leisure facilities for our area have been ignored as the Tory Council only concentrates on Ilford"
