Central Train

Longer trains and a more frequent service are promised on the Gospel Oak to Barking Line

Leyton and Wanstead Liberal Democrats understands, from the User Group newsletter that the new trains are now not expected to come into service until late next year. Delays to signalling works to allow a more frequent service mean that the increased passenger service is unlikely to commence before November. This service has become much busier since coming under the control of Transport for London. Campaigners are now pressing for all the trains to be upgraded to three coaches without delay.

Campaigner John Howard advises that he has asked Caroline Pigeon, Transport Spokesperson at the GLA, for assistance in obtaining information about the installation of a baffle on the embankment behind Norlington School, which was due to be in place by the end of last year.
