The disused LEB substation at the junction of Hollydown Way and Cathall Road was demolished about 2 years ago to make way for the new Construction Skills Training Centre, as part of Waltham Forests Olympic package. The centre, was to be set up to train people with the promise of employment on the Olympic site once they had acquired the necessary skills and qualifications. With the games due to start in 2012, this leaves just over 2 years and 6 training centre and train individuals to the required standard. Leyton and Wanstead liberal Democrats and the Cathall Focus team say: 'Does this mean we have already missed the boat? Watch this space for an update to this story'.
